Circa Waves: Creating a sea of energy

Since the birth of Circa Waves six years ago, the relatively new band has come a long way. Go back to Liverpool 2013 and creating a chart-topping album would have been a dream for Liverpool lads Kieran Shudall (vocals), Joe Falconer (guitar), Sam Rourke (bassist), and Colin Jones (drummer). Yet fast forward to April 2019, and the boys have done just that, with What’s It Like Over There? reaching a top 10 position in the charts following their switch from a major to an independent record label. Currently on a world tour, they are fast becoming a global sensation playing in Japan, the US and Europe. Not only this, but the band have several iconic festivals under their belt, playing Leeds Fest and the new Wasteland festival in Newcastle.

On the 27th April, Circa Waves played at Newcastle University Students'

Union, where they performed songs from their two previous albums, including the hit single Stuck in My Teeth along with songs from their new album, including Be Somebody Good and The Way We Say Goodbye. It's clear to see that the buzz surrounding the band is no joke, with the venue being packed out, making for an electric atmosphere when they played. The entire crowd soon became one big mosh pit, with everybody jumping around to the unique sound of the band.

It was safe to say that plenty of water was handed out to the crowd that night.
